I Am From Idaho Book Cover with Idaho map in background

I Am From Idaho is a reflective journey by Michael K. Edwards that captures the essence of belonging to a place that shapes who you are. Edwards explores a time when saying, "I'm from Idaho" was more than an answer to "Where?"—it was a declaration of identity rooted in rural landscapes and timeless values. This nostalgic narrative weaves together personal memories and the spirit of Idaho, offering a look back at home and heritage.

A wonderful read that is "cut in rocks like runes"

Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2024 Reviewed on Amazon

Reading Lamplighter is time well spent. The author's words are calming, and the rhythm and imagery are reassuring. From self-reflection and the utility of building something called home to the poetry innate within oneself during those moments of self-doubt, the poems flow into images in the mind and sentiment filled with the desires of internal understanding of oneself to the shared imagery of a life lived together. There is incredible variety, filled with what is dark and what is light.

This is a wonderful read. Find a chair, a tree, a sunny day, your favorite beverage, and a light breeze. Pick up this book and look forward to what S. A. McNutt creates next.

The poems that resonated most with me were; Diligence - the emotional bond of words an
author writes, Little Waters – a particularly vivid word picture, and Covenant of Peace – a
longing for peace in our world and in our lives.
